Bed and Breakfast

Tolne Gjæstgivergaard is an international art center bed and breakfast in the north of Denmark, on the way to Sweden and Norway.

Many ceramic artists come to Tolne to develop their artwork, and you're likely to find yourself surrounded by a unique artistic vibe. As a guest at Tolne Gjæstgivergaard you can chat with other guests from around the world, enjoy our flower gardens, take a walk in the woods, or spend time reading a book in one of the antique chairs in our cafe.

At Tolne Gjæstgivergaard each room is unique and charming, with special details, bed linens and towels, fresh flowers, original ceramic art and a selection of antique furniture which is original to our place and constantly evolving. Homemade continental breakfasts are served each morning, including fresh baked bread, our own marmelade and musli, organic cheeses, great coffee and tea.

Our seven renovated rooms are newly refurnished, and have new carpets and mattresses.  Shared renovated showers and toilets are maintained daily.  Our facilities are simple and comfortable.

Tolne Gjæstgivergaard is situated in the middle of the forest, across from the train station, on the way to Tolne Skov Pavillon.  There's often something fantastic going on, and it's a great place to meet interesting people, visit with artists, go on a hike, and look out over the landscape from one of many high hills.  You'll likely experience nature in a new way here. Nearby, scenic seashore destinations like Skagen, Tversted, Løkken, Sæby, and Lønstrup await, where there are wild dunes and lovely landscapes as well.  Close to Tolne, there are interesting museums and important archaeological sites like the ancient Elvehøj burial mounts, which were featured in the Christmas film Emma og Julemanden in 2015.  You can also see a bit of Tolne in the film Klumpfisken (2014), which was filmed on location in the forest.
